DownGo
DownGo Video and Media Downloads
Use DownGo to inspect supported media streams and hand off eligible browser media to the Windows download manager.
Inspect available streams
Media Stream Sniffer can show video and audio formats the source makes available, including details such as resolution, format, codec, size or bitrate when the source provides them. Quality choices depend on the source; selecting 4K cannot create a 4K stream if the source does not offer one.
Browser media handoff
The optional DownGo Browser Integration extension can show a download panel for supported media exposed by a webpage. The panel is not available on every site. The browser extension does not support YouTube, DRM-protected video, or segmented HLS playlists. Some streams use short-lived links or authentication and may stop working when the source changes them.
What affects video download quality?
- The resolution and audio/video formats published by the source.
- Whether the stream is direct, segmented, protected, or requires a signed-in session.
- Whether the app and source can combine separate video and audio tracks.
- Your network and the source server’s limits.
DownGo cannot guarantee that a video can be detected, downloaded, resumed, or saved at a selected resolution. Use these tools only for media you are authorized to save, and follow the source platform’s terms and applicable law.
